Destiny Day Spa Experience

Here's something you might already know about me if you know me in real life: I'm a workaholic. I'm always busy, and when I'm not, my mind is consumed with what's next on my list of things to do. So when London from Destiny Day Spa contacted me to come in and check out some of the services they offer, I will honestly say I had my doubts. Not about the spa or the quality of their services, but about whether I had the time to actually go in and be pampered. You're probably thinking, "Seriously? Who would pass up a massage and facial?" I decided to let my worries fall to the wayside for a couple of hours last Thursday and I took London up on her proposal. Here's how it went...

First of all, the location is beautiful. Downtown Bossier City has undergone lots of construction and remodeling and I had not been in the area since its completion. It's beautiful! It actually is a great spot for a spa due to the serene, courtyard-like environment.

My only criticism for the spa is that I feel like the decor is a little harsh and could maybe be toned down just a bit for a more zen-like atmosphere.

When I first walked through the door I was greeted by several ladies at the front desk and felt at ease and welcome. I have to admit I was a little nervous as I've only really been to a spa for a massage and facial once before so I'm not quite used to it. Thankfully, the ladies at Destiny Day Spa were very sweet and inviting.

I was taken to a dimly-lit waiting area to complete my pre-services paperwork where I was offered bottled water. After completing the paper work, my masseuse, Taylor, came through and introduced herself and walked me back to the room I would be in for both my Swedish Massage and Express Facial. She went through what was going to happen and left the room while I got ready for my massage.

Taylor did a wonderful job and I felt completely relaxed. I can't lie to you though, on and off throughout my massage, my mind kept wandering back to the things I needed to get done on my to-do list. Not to anyone's fault but my own, of course. Taylor was excellent and very professional and I would absolutely come back to her again. She politely let me know that London would be performing my facial and that I should just stay and relax until she comes in, then Taylor excused herself from the room while I waited.

London was super sweet and knowledgable when it comes to skin. Upon entering she asked how my massage was (I told her it was great) and went on to talk to me a little about wether or not I had any skin concerns I wanted her to focus on during my facial. I let her know that my skin has been my biggest insecurity for the last 10 years of my life. She told me that she felt the same way for a long time and that's what drove her to becoming an esthetician. I immediately felt like she knew what she was doing.

Appropriate products were used during my facial and again, I began to relax. London made me feel comfortable and soothed what little anxiety I did have about someone working on my super sensitive skin.

All in all, I can definitely say that I enjoyed my time at Destiny Day Spa. I learned that it's very important to take care of yourself not only physically, but mentally as well. Maybe next time, I'll be able to shut my brain off just a little bit more. Because I'm hoping there will for sure be a "next time" for me at Destiny Day Spa.

Thank you, London, Taylor, and everyone at Destiny Day Spa, for not only the amazing spa services, but for treating me with lots of kindness while I was there. Can't wait for my return!
